What is the nature of the activities in your company?
Pon Power BV has been the official dealer for Caterpillar engines and power systems in the Netherlands since 1927.
Caterpillar engines are known across the world for their reliability, robustness and long life-spans.
Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial turbines, generator sets and combined heat and power plants.

Do you have specific rules when it comes to sponsoring? If so, what are they?
We only sponsor projects which help us to communicate our brand values and do have a fit with our main target groups.

Why did you decide to be a partner of SOS SAHEL?
We are sponsor of a Dutch Truck racing team, named GINAF Rally Power in Le Dakar 2008. Their racetrucks are powered by Caterpillar engines, provided by Pon Power.
We would like to encourage SOS SAHEL in their projects 'Actions dakar' . We feel that we have to 'compensate' in a certain way for the pollution that is caused by our engines.

What seduced you in the project you chose to sponsor in Africa?
Projects of SOS SAHEL improve quality of life in the Dakar area for a lot of people. We think it is important that Le Dakar provides some important positive aspects for the people, who are living in this area.
